Bonne Bouche Rewards

Hi Tim and Yvette

We are trialling a new system to allow smaller, local businesses to offer a Loyalty Reward Scheme and I think it would really help you. Take a look at the details on this page and let me know what you think. I would really value your totally honest opinion, even if you don’t want to sign up to this scheme.

Customers get Loyalty Points by scanning a QR Code on their smartphone. When they reach the target number of points, which you set, they earn a reward, which is determined by you. So, for example, you could say when a customer has made 5 orders, they qualify for one hot drink free, or a free waffle. The customer is emailed a code when they redeem their points and show you the email to claim their reward.

You can have access to a control panel to view their rewards history and verify the claim if you choose to and you can either choose to set up the rewards yourself or get us to do all that for you.

How It Works

Once you determine what the reward is and how many points are needed to claim the reward, our system generates a QR Code (that is those squares of black dots that you often seen and there is an example below). You can print this out or have it on a tablet or something.

When your customer has made an order, you invite them to scan the QR code with their phone to earn a Reward Point.

The first time that a customer scans the QR Code, they will be prompted to enter name, email address and, optionally, a telephone number. When they scan the code on that device on subsequent orders, they are automatically recognised and the point(s) added to their account. You can choose to set up an email list to collect these email addresses and email your customers with special offers now and again.

Once they have earned enough points to claim a reward, they are able to redeem their points and claim the reward once they scan the QR Code. An email is sent to them with a code, which they then show to you.

To the right (if you are on a mobile, it will appear below) you can see a typical QR code and this is a working code that you can scan to create an account and claim one reward point for a test business called “Test Waffle Shack”. The reward is a free waffle when you have earned 5 points.

This is the sort of thing that you would have printed out and invite customers to scan once they have completed their order.

It rewards your regular customers and encourages them to come back.

You can have multiple offers, each with their own QR code. So, for example, you could offer 2 Reward Points when someone orders 3 or more waffles. If you do scan the QR code and create an account, you can go to “View Rewards” and see I have set up a second offer of a free hot drink for 10 points.

The QR Code can only be scanned once per day to prevent someone trying to scan it 5 times and claiming a reward fraudulently.

So What Do You Think

We haven’t settled on the price for this yet. There will be a set up fee and a monthly admin fee. If you do decide to give it a try, we will give you a very generous family discount.
